Trips to Ireland up 10.8 per cent in second quarter

Tourism Ireland has welcomed official figures which show a continuing increase in the number of people visiting Ireland in the second quarter of this year.

Chief executive Niall Gibbons described the figures as "excellent", adding that they reflected what the tourism body was hearing from the industry in Ireland and overseas. Next week, Tourism Ireland launches an autumn campaign aimed at encouraging late-season travel to Ireland.
