TikTok lets Irish politicians play at being content moderators at new transparency centre

The social media company tells Irish politicians users’ data is safe amid growing pressure from European and US officials over its links to China

A number of Irish politicians took the opportunity to play the role of a TikTok content moderator during a visit to social media company’s new “transparency centre” this week, as the Chinese company lobbies western policymakers to try and convince them users’ data is safe from Beijing’s surveillance.
