From tea to gin: blueway investment is a tonic for village

Pascal Gillard and his wife Sinéad are tapping into a blueway-inspired boom in their Leitrim village.

Drumshanbo has seen a surge in visitors since the opening of Ireland’s first floating boardwalk two years ago as part of the Shannon Blueway route.

The Gillard family have now opened a new tearoom beside the boardwalk to add to their existing businesses, which include a bakery and self-catering holiday cottages.
