TDs fear Kerins case will restrict powers to question witnesses

The Supreme Court verdict in the Angela Kerins case has raised concerns that Oireachtas officials will try to limit the powers of committees to question witnesses.

The former chief executive of Rehab took a case over her treatment by the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) with the court broadly finding in favour of Kerins last week, but adjourning until April to consider additional issues before reaching a final verdict on her appeal.
