Ray Coyle, the Meath-born businessman who founded Tayto Park, has died aged 70.

The news was confirmed in a short statement from Coyle’s family, which said he died “peacefully, surrounded by his family”.

Coyle, based in Tara, Co Meath, is known for his role in developing the Largo Foods snacks group, which included leading brands such as Tayto, King crisps and Hunky Dory. The group is now owned by German company Intersnacks.
