SuperValu announces two store closures leaving 98 jobs at risk

Retailer SuperValu has revealed it is to shut two of stores with 98 potential redundancies to follow.

The company said that the stores on Kennedy Avenue in Carlow and Marketplace in Clonmel will cease trading on January 22 2016 due to "difficult trading conditions".

A SuperValu spokesman said: "Regrettably, this decision will potentially lead to 98 redundancies.
