Suitors circle as speculation grows that Avoca may not pass to next generation

Several potential suitors are circling Irish retailer Avoca amid industry speculation that the sale of one of Ireland’s most successful family owned businesses is under consideration.

One interested party considering the upmarket food, homeware and clothing business is thought to be the Kilkenny Design Group, controlled by the O’Gorman family.

A number of potential buyers have expressed a tentative interest, and the owners of Avoca, the Pratt family, are currently mulling over the bids.
