Third-level students hunting for accommodation are being advised not to sign a lease without checking a property’s heating standards and energy safety

The search for student housing for the next academic year is about to begin, with almost 78,000 CAO applicants set to receive first-round offers today.

A 2017 survey by USI found that more than one in five students - 21 per cent – had experienced issues with inadequate heating and dampness in their accommodation.
