Since 2011, both Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin have fallen steadily in the Times Higher Education rankings

In 2011, Trinity College Dublin was rated 76th in the Times Higher Education ranking of the best colleges in the world. University College Dublin, meanwhile, was 94th. Two Irish universities were sitting in the top 100 third level institutes in the world, out of nearly 20,000 universities, colleges and institutes of technology around the world.
