State to use power to claim post-bankruptcy income

The state’s bankruptcy authorities have signalled plans to lay claim to the future earnings of all bankrupts, even after they are officially discharged from bankruptcy.

The state’s official assignee, Chris Lehane, last week agreed a deal with former billionaire Sean Quinn, which will see Quinn pay €10,000 per year for the next two years, after his exit from bankruptcy last Friday.
