State housing body prioritises 3 bed homes for first-time buyers

Home Building Finance Ireland was set up after developers said access to finance was a major barrier to construction projects

Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI), the state agency set up to fund the delivery of new homes, is prioritising three bed homes for first-time buyers.

In an annual update published this morning, HBFI said it loaned out €1.25 billion during 2022, an increase of 49 per cent on the €835 million at the end of 2021.
