State examining use of ‘flotels’ as Taoiseach says Ireland is ‘struggling’ in European refugee crisis
It follows the suggestion of a pod-style system from the Housing Minister
Roderic O’Gorman, the Minister for Equality and Integration, has said the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth is looking at floating hotels, or “flotels”, in its response to accommodating international protection applicants.
It comes as the Taoiseach says that Ireland is struggling to deal with the scale of the refugee crisis that has swept Europe.
