Alt Liquor Co, a spirits business based in Limerick, plans to enter the South African market after raising €642,000 in funding.

The bulk of the funds, €550,000, was raised through crowdfunding via the Crowdcube platform with the remainder coming from private investors. Alt Liquor launched its Foxes Bow whiskey late last year.

“The funding will aid surety of supply. We’re partnered with Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk and we wanted to make sure we had enough inventory with them to fit our projections for the next five years,” Alice Carroll, co-founder of Alt Liquor, told the Business Post.
