Spanish firm linked to M4/M6 motorway maintenance loses court battle

Legal wrangle involved €1.38 million tax bill arising from a share sale

A Spanish firm involved in building and maintaining the M4/M6 motorway has lost a court battle involving a €1.38 million tax bill arising from a share sale.

Last February, Cintra Infraestructuras Internacional disposed of 45.99 per cent of its Eurolink shares to Dutch fund DIF for €9.2 million.

Cintra was the main stakeholder in Eurolink when it entered into a public private partnership to construct the Kinnegad to Kilcock motorway in March 2013.
