The state’s ethics watchdog signed off on billionaire George Soros’s funding of Amnesty’s abortion campaign over a year before reversing the decision.
New correspondence shows that Derek Charles, an investigator at the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo), wrote to Amnesty Ireland in October 2016 saying it was not required to register as a body in receipt of funding for political purposes.
