Several Irish cancer centres failing to hit waiting-time targets
Just 13 per cent of patients with suspected prostate cancer were seen within the target
Many of the country’s cancer centres are missing HSE waiting time targets for both routine and urgent referrals.
Patients affected include those suspected of having breast, prostate, lung and colorectal cancer, official figures show.
Just 13 per cent of patients with suspected prostate cancer were seen within 20 days of referral – the target – at Cork University Hospital during the first eight months of the year.
