Search for new Dublin City Council chief to start in September as Owen Keegan confirms retirement

Richard Shakespeare will be appointed acting chief executive of Dublin City Council when Owen Keegan stands down on September 13, the Business Post can confirm.

Keegan, who was first appointed head of the country’s largest local authority in 2013, told a meeting of senior management last week of his plans to stand down later this summer when his term ends. The 66-year-old will retire at this time.
