His father, a renowned architect, designed the old Bord Fáilte headquarters in Dublin city. Now Simon Walker is petitioning against plans to demolish it.

Walker is chair of DoCoMoMo Ireland, the Irish arm of an international organisation that documents and conserves buildings, sites and neighbourhoods from the modern architectural movement. He submitted his petition to Dublin City Council last week.
