Ryanair posts €170m profit in second quarter as passenger numbers recover

Easter bookings and fares, however, were badly damaged by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February

Ryanair has reported profit after tax of €170 million for the three months to June 30 on the back of increased passenger demand.

This is a swing on the loss of €273 million in the corresponding period last year, but well below the €243 million profit reported in its financial year 2020 quarter one, which was pre-Covid.
