Russian tennis player to be allowed to train in Ireland

Tennis Ireland says Vitalia Diatchenko, who had been refused permission, can now resume practising here for international tournaments

Tennis Ireland has confirmed that Vitalia Diatchenko, a Russian player who is ranked 114 in the world, will be permitted to train in Ireland after previously being denied permission by multiple clubs.

Last week, the Business Post reported that Diatchenko, who is of Ukrainian descent, had been stopped from practising at Elm Park club in Dublin where she had previously trained for 11 years, due to the war in Ukraine. Efforts made by Diatchenko and ...
