Russian jet carrying 224 passengers crashes in Egypt

A Russian airliner carrying 224 passengers and crew has crashed in Egypt's Sinai peninsula.
The plane - operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia - was flying from the Sinai Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg in Russia when it came down in a mountainous area of central Sinai this morning.
It is understood 17 children are among the dead and few passengers have survived the tragedy.
