Russia and Ukraine have agreed a “basic, technical” agreement to allow grain exports to resume from the blockaded Black Sea region.

At a meeting in Istanbul today, representatives from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, the US, the EU and the United Nations agreed an initial deal which could pave the way for crucial grain exports from Ukraine’s Black Sea ports to resume.
