Voluntary redundancy packages offered to RTÉ staff as part of the broadcaster’s restructuring efforts must be consistent with similar public service exit schemes, Paschal Donohoe said on Monday.

The Minister for Public Expenditure’s comments come after the Business Post revealed that the national broadcaster plans to offer payments worth up to two years’ salary in a bid to cut 400 staff over the next five years.
