Property developer Johnny Ronan has described the refusal of planning permission for extra floors on the new Salesforce Tower in Dublin’s docklands as “complete nonsense”.

“The Apple fiasco and now this, it makes Ireland look like a complete banana republic,” he said, referring to Apple’s scrapping of a planned €850 million data centre in Galway after years of planning delays.
