Reworked Adoption Bill will give children and parents more rights

Lawyers working in the area of adoption information have given a cautious welcome to the news that children’s minister Katherine Zappone and Labour Senator Ivana Bacik are working on a new amendment to the controversial Adoption Bill.

Zappone and Bacik’s amendment would involve the state giving birth parents six months to come forward and object to a disclosure of information about them to their children.
