Revenue to get details of Irish-held Swiss bank accounts
The Revenue is due to get the names and bank balances of every single Swiss bank account holder with an Irish address in 2018 under a new information-sharing agreement with the secretive Swiss authorities.
Revenue chairman Niall Cody has warned that taxpayers with undeclared funds should come forward now before their names are handed over.
It has already recovered €4.5 million from 19 Irish people with Swiss bank accounts, on foot of information supplied by a HSBC whistleblower.
“People who have offshore monies I think they should come to us and disclose it before we come to them,” Cody said.
