Irish retailers are expecting their best Christmas in seven years as the prospect of tax cuts in January boosts consumer sentiment and spending, according to a new report.

Retail Ireland's third quarter monitor predicts households will spend around €2,450 on core retail goods in December, or €600 more than in other months, while it expects core retail sales to top €4 billion next month, up 3.5 per cent on last year. It expects ...
