Restaurants want to split from hotels in lobbying on Vat rate

The RAI is concerned about being linked with certain accommodation providers accused of excessive pricing over the holiday season

Restaurants will “stand on [their] own two feet” when lobbying the government over the extension of the lower Vat rate due to concerns about being linked to conversations about high prices in the wider hospitality sector.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) is making the move at a time when some hotels are being accused of excessive pricing particularly around busy weekends in Dublin.
