As she awaits the outcome of her government’sSupreme Court appeal on the process for triggering Brexit, British Prime Minister Theresa May was handed another European blow yesterday when the country’s top EU diplomat resigned.

Sir Ivan Rogers who was appointed by May’s predecessor David Cameron in 2013, was Britain’s ambassador to the EU and had been expected to play an important role in the Brexit talks.
