Rents hit record levels

Rents in Ireland rose by 13.5 per cent last year,the largest annual increase ever recorded by property website Daft.ie, which has been tracking the market since 2002.

Its latest quarterly report showed the averagemonthly rent nationwide stood at an all-time high of €1,111 in the final three months of the year, the third quarter in a row that it hit a new high.
