Regulatory inconsistency a threat to Big Tech presence in Ireland, industry warns

Ireland needs to do more to become an EU leader in technology regulation by increasing funding for its oversight bodies if it is to avoid further jobs cuts and protect the industry’s presence here, an industry group told politicians today.

Technology Ireland, part of the Ibec business group, appeared before the Oireachtas enterprise committee this morning, and told politicians that Ireland is at times behind when it comes to regulating major technology companies.
