Referendum on removing reference to woman’s ‘life within the home’ to be held in November

The campaign for the referendum is expected to begin at the end of September

A referendum on gender equality will take place this November, the government has announced.

Proposals and recommendations for constitutional amendments are to be published by the end of June with a particular focus on amendments to Articles 40 and 41, which contains a reference to ‘women’s place within the home’.
