Public servants to get training to deal with FoI requests

Documents seen by The Sunday Business Post show the Office of Government Procurement has now sought third-party firms to provide 'expert level' FoI training

A select group of public servants are in line to receive “expert level” training to beef up their ability to strictly apply freedom of information (FoI) laws.

The FoI Act, most recently amended in 2014, is a tool available to private citizens that allows them to apply to access publicly held records.
