Property giant wants help-to-buy scheme retained

The boss of property giant Glenveagh is calling for the government to keep the help-to-buy scheme for first-time home buyers.

Speaking to analysts after Glenveagh’s half-year financial results late last month, chief executive Stephen Garvey said that he expected the scheme, which is due to run out at the end of this year and offers a €20,000 tax rebate to buyers, to be retained in some form.
