Profits triple at Bord Na Móna as wholesale energy costs soar

Bord na Móna, the semi-state company, saw its profits triple last year after it recorded one of the strongest performances in its 90-year history thanks to surging wholesale energy costs.

On Wednesday, Bord na Móna announced pre-tax profits of just under €85.2 million for its 2022 financial year to the end of March, which is more than triple the €27.7 million in pre-tax profits the company made last year.
