Paschal Donohoe has said he believes Michael D Higgins holds “well updated” views on economics, saying the President raised “some very interesting points” during a speech on the subject last week that prompted a biting backlash from several leading economists.
The Minister for Public Expenditure told reporters today that it was “brilliant” to see a discussion around economic thought, adding that it is “wonderful to have a president who wants to initiate these debates”.
