An Post has reported a pre-tax loss of €15.6m for last year, but it says recent price increases have provided it with stability for the next 12-18 months.

The price of a standard postage stamp jumped from 72 cent to €1 in April, one of a number of price increases of between 12 per cent and 39 per cent granted by the Government after the company hadwarned about its financial difficulties.
