Port chief: Offshore wind could do for Rosslare what IFSC has done for Dublin

Offshore wind could be an economic driver for the south-east of Ireland in a similar way to the growth of financial services in Dublin during the 1980s, according to Glenn Carr, general manager of Rosslare Europort.

Irish Rail, which operates the port, has announced plans to establish Ireland’s offshore renewable energy (ORE) hub in the region, with the potential to create up to 2,000 jobs. This development, which Carr hopes will be completed by 2026, ...
