Plasterers get payout over bogus self-employment work on schools

Plasterers working on two schools have been awarded compensation from the Workplace Relations Commission over bogus self-employment issues.

Six members of the Operative Plasterers and Allied Trades Society of lreland (Opatsi) have been awarded almost €20,000 between them over a number of issues including wages, contracts of employment, holidays and compensation for their work on school building sites in Bray in Co Wicklow, and in Cabra in Dublin 7.
