Government fears any attempt to improve energy efficiency in rental sector could hurt supply
The government has shelved plans to force landlords to improve the insulation in rental homes until after the general election.
Many of the country’s rental properties have a poor Building Energy Rating (BER) of D or lower because there is no incentive for landlords or tenants to upgrade them.
