Phone mast plans blocked by increase in objections

Telcos’ plans to improve phone coverage and internet signal nationwide have been hampered by a spike in projects being delayed by planning appeals.

Developers of phone masts – 20 metres to 40 metres in height – require planning approval from county councils to erect new towers and need to reapply for permission to retain the developments after several years.
