People who are making genuine efforts to pay their mortgage should not be allowed to fall into arrears because of European Central Bank interest rate hikes, Michael McGrath, the Minister for Finance, has said.
Speaking at the Banking & Payments Federation Retail Banking Conference on Monday, McGrath said he expects a further interest rate hike from the ECB this week.
