Pay growth speeds up, but still modest

Finance workers best paid, with earnings up almost 14 per cent in five years

Official figures show that average weekly pay across the Irish economy rose by 1.4 per cent in the first quarter of this year compared with a year earlier. This represents an acceleration from the 0.6 per cent growth in the final quarter of last year and was broadly in line with economists' expectations.
