Northern Ireland applications up 26 per cent, British figure jumps by 40 per cent

Figures from the Passport Service confirm that the Brexit vote in June led toa dramatic rise in the number of people from Britain and Northern Ireland applying for Irish passports last year.

Passport applications from Northern Ireland were up 26.5 per cent from 2015 to 67,792. Applications from Britain jumped by 40.6 per cent to 64,996.
