Paradise Papers yield less than €500,000 in extra taxes

Inspections of off-shore accounts of well-known individuals failed to identify additional tax liabilities; Revenue ‘did not receive a positive response’ when asking if further information available

The taxman has netted less than €500,000 from individuals who were linked to the huge Paradise Papers offshore tax scandal.

More than 100 Irish cases were looked at by the Revenue Commissioners with letters issued to those involved asking them to explain their tax affairs. However, most of these cases have concluded and have not identified any additional tax liability that needs to be paid.
