O’Neill Leicester move could hand FAI a windfall

Martin O’Neill’s expected departure from the position of Ireland manager to English Premier League outfit Leicester City could net the debt-ridden FAI €1 million in compensation.

Leicester have identified O’Neill, who managed them with some success between 1995 and 2000, as the preferred candidate to replace Nigel Pearson, who was sacked at the end of June despite fighting a successful battle against relegation from the top flight.
