Officials find no need for orbital Luas line around Dublin

However, there are plans to examine the issue again some time in the 2030s

There is currently no need for an orbital Luas line in Dublin, the National Transport Authority (NTA) has said.

An orbital light rail line is one which would run in a semi-circle around the capital, in a similar way to how the M50 motorway allows for faster movement around the county. It could also link the Luas more closely with existing rail lines, the Dart, and the planned Metrolink.
