The words “regret” and “hindsight” have cropped up repeatedly in the evidence of Kevin O’Connell, the chief investigator into the multimillion loans of former Anglo Irish Bank boss Sean FitzPatrick.

Having testified earlier in FitzPatrick’s trial, the solicitor from the Office of Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE), was recalled to the stand of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last Thursday.
