O’Brien calls for department to merge with HSE

A merger between the Department of Health and the corporate arm of the HSE should be examined, former HSE chief Tony O’Brien has said.

Writing in this newspaper today, O’Brien says it is “extraordinary” that this is still not on the reform agenda, and that it is something which should be prioritised by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
