Ó Riordáin planning integration strategy for Polish community
Forum identifies ‘disconnect’ between resident Poles and Irish state.
Minister of State Aodhán Ó Riordáin is preparing a new integration strategy for the 150,000-strong Polish community here, to avoid the “mistakes” made in Britain.
There have been complaints from the Polish community about their very low involvement in the life of local communities.
Ó Riordáin, who has ministerial responsibility for “new communities”, said that an integration strategy was due shortly to improve the situation.
